We began our trip from Sai Baba colony, Coimbatore to Kothagiri. Our driver navigated through the crowded and busy streets of Coimbatore before stopping over for breakfast at the Annapoorna Gowrishankar outlet in Mettupalayam. Once we left the hustle-bustle, we entered the winding mountainous roads leading to the quaint hill town of Kothagiri.

Nelliyampathy - lost in the wilderness
A memorable trip in March 2013 with some friends
Nelliyampathy is a hill station 60 kms from Palakkad, Kerala. It is surrounded by scenic tea and coffee plantations. The village has its own gram panchayat and forms a part of the Chittur taluk. Pothundi Dam, constructed in the 19th century is the entrance to Nelliyampathy.
